I am writing this article because I am very disturbed over what the Church in America has done to our nation. America has been betrayed because the Church in America has failed to preserve and protect the Christian heritage of America. Satan is playing his fiddle and we are dancing to his music. Over the last hundred years in America we have been losing our country to every evil belief and idea because we will not stand up for the principles that America was founded on. Most Christians under the age of 60 don't have a clue what we once possessed as Christians in this once great land. Why, because we have been too busy using excuses, making money and being entertained to be involved in preserving our country. The Church in America has been stupid and cowardly and needs to wake up. We must stop doing what our parents did and go back to what the founders of our nation did.

Let me explain what I am talking about. I went to the grocery store one morning to pick up a few things for the day. As I was checking out at the register the clerk and I were discussing the horrible things that are going on in America. I told her that I was feeling angry that morning which was unusual and our converstion began from that point. She explained to me that even though things were bad she wasn't concerned because Jesus was coming back real soon and she wouldn't be here anyway. I then explained to her that I agreed that surely Jesus would come back soon and I could appreciate her hope in this, yet I realize that it is this kind of thinking that has destroyed our Judeo Christian nation over the past hundred years and that it is very disturbing. Jesus holds the Church accountable for what has happened to our country in the past and will hold us accountable for the future as well. Understanding this will help us get back on track.

There are two major problems in Christian thinking and beliefs that are destroying our country. One is the belief that we shouldn't mix religion with politics, the other is that Jesus is coming back real soon and we don't have to worry about or get involved in saving our nation. On the first problem we should realize that no matter what has been said by the supposed educated or elite, America was founded on Judeo-Christian values and belief. The Declaration of Independence declares that our liberties are God given and not given by man. That in it's self should be enough for all of us, but unfortunately there are many that oppose our founders today.

Up until 1947 there had been several attempts through court cases brought to the Supreme Court to change the understanding of the first amendment to rule against the church but it failed in every attempt. However in 1947 a Supreme Court Justice by the name of Hugo Black changed the meaning of the First Amendment. He used a letter written to a Baptist Church in Danbury Connecticut to repeat a line that Thomas Jefferson used. The term was a wall of separation. This letter was to comfort the Church in Danbury. Jefferson was explaining to them that they were protected by the Government. The First Amendment was a one sided wall that protected the Church by the Government but was not written to purge the Government from Christianity. It was written to protect our nation from having a particular denomination of Christianity from forcing their views and beliefs on the whole nation, yet protecting their rights to worship freely. In other words that there would not be a state Church. At that time England had a state Church and forced everyone to attend the Church of England. The Church still had the right to freedom of speech and expression, to speak publicly or privately about their faith. Thomas Jefferson himself while serving as President had a govenment funded missionary mission built and paid for by government money to promote Christianity among the Indians. The government paid the salary of the minister to that Mission. If Thomas Jefferson had believed the way Judge Black viewed things he would have never done it. Judge Black however had a different opinion and decided that the First Amendment was to separate the church from the state. This has led to many law suits by the ACLU and other Socialist organizations to destroy the strength of the Christian Religion in America. We should have rose up then but, we shrugged our shoulders and said; "well Jesus is coming back real soon."

Then prayer was taken out of school in the next few years because of his decision. Again we said; "Jesus will be coming real soon we don't have to worry about it. I'll be out of here anytime soon." Do you realize that over fifty years has passed since the Church said this and our country at this moment is in the hands of Socialist and a President that has no desire to see America return to the Constitution. Some schools are still allowed to have student led prayer. Teachers cannot pray however without violating the law. Our founders would have never tolerated such corruption to get into our laws. But the Church did, because Jesus is coming back real soon. The teaching of emminent return has destroyed the very foundation of our nation and opened the gates to every hellish belief under the sun. The Church is scorned by the secular people of our nation and laughed at as a bunch of idiots. Who wants to become a Christian in the midst of all of this thinking.

A few years ago I began to research our history, to sincerely dig into our past to find the truth about America. I was very surprised to find overwhelming support through fact not fiction that America was a Christian nation and it was founded that way. The founders understood the effect of a Christian nation in the world especially one that was established in liberty. Today most Christians don’t have a clue and frankly are not interested. The progressive movement in America hates Christianity unless you are a Pastor that is willing to go along with their destructive views. Then they may even use you as an advocate for their corrupt values.

After learning so many wonderful things about our nation and it’s founding on Christian principles I realized that most Christians today don’t realize the truth. Understanding this caused me to go into action. I began to print up many handouts and talking to a lot of people about this great thing. I met with an unusual amount of resistance. It might surprise you to know the source of the resistance. I expected to be resisted by people that are from the liberal side of the street but I wasn’t prepared for what I ran into from the Church.

I pastor a small church in a little town called Ketchum, located in northeastern Ok. But I live in a little town about 37 miles from there called Locust Grove. I have pastored in Ketchum since 1990. One day I thought that it would be a great thing to educate our community about our founding history. I went to the local Ministers Alliance in Locust Grove expecting to find a warm welcome from all of those fine Christian pastors. I presented my case explaining that I was hoping to promote an awakening to our past Christian history in our local area. I proposed that once a year we could have all the Christians in the community come together to celebrate our Christian heritage. During this celebration we could do a great deal of teaching so as to plant the truth from actual history into the minds of not only the Church but also all the youth that would come to this thing. I also suggested sharing a few moments of truth from the pulpits. Just a few things dropped in from time to time to educate the Christian. You know, things that were said and done by the founders.

One of my reasons for doing this was because there is a concentrated effort on the part of the progressive, liberal and secular movement in America to erase our past history. In fact in many of our schools and colleges anything to do with Christianity is being left out of our history books. For example many schools do not teach that the Pilgrims came to America because of persecution by the Church of England but rather that they came just because they wanted to come to a new land. There are so many things left out of our history, so many things in fact that it completely changes history it’s self. In George Washington’s Farewell Address he had several things to say about the importance of Christianity. In most college's this has been omitted and struck from it in their copies. They do not want the truth to be told because they do not want Christianity to be a success in America. The government controls the schools, our children will not know the truth unless we tell them. This was my plan.

I am not going to go into a lot detail about this meeting I had at the Locust Grove Ministers Alliance except to say that my ideas were all rejected. I was scorned and criticized, one pastor yelled at me. Most of their excuses were that they didn’t want to get involved and one minister said, “I don’t have time for this.” I replied by explaining that I would furnish the materials and that they could be in charge. But, I was rejected. I then went to all of the ministers that I knew in the community that did not belong to the alliance or were not able to attend the meeting. I found the same reaction from them as well. I was crushed, If I had been a young Christian I would have walked away from Christianity at the time all of this happened. It was devastating.
