Earthquakes in Divers Places March 10, 2010
Mark 13: 8: For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. Earthquakes have occurred in Haiti, Chile, Malaysia and Turkey along with tremors happening at record pace in Oklahoma and other parts of the world. What is going on? Ever since the twentieth century earthquakes have increased across the world. In 2004 through 2009 and 2010 these have increased not only in number but have intensified in strength. Does this have a significant meaning in Bible prophecy? I believe that it does. In Matthew 24: 1: And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. It is important to realize that when Jesus was talking about wars and rumors of wars or famines and pestilence, that he was talking about an enormous or larger amount of these things than normal. There have always been wars and there have always been famines and pestilence. But in the past century we have seen two world wars with famines and pestilence in almost every continent. So likewise when speaking of earthquakes we are looking at a much larger amount than normal. The amazing thing is that the earthquakes we have been having in the last twenty years are very intense reaching higher numbers on the rector scale than normal. I believe that we are looking at the beginning of sorrows and that these earthquakes signal that the time of the end is drawing near. This does not mean that I believe that we are living during the tribulation period but we will see the world go into more distress than ever before. But these things will have a tendency to bring people closer to God.
