America and Israel in Bible Prophecy
Our commitment to Prayer Prayer for America Because there is an absolute need for our country to be saved, our first commitment is prayer for our nation. The sinful condition of our nation is the result of Christian people’s failure to pray for it. The only hope America has today is the prayer’s of a few people who will spend a little time with God, on their knees seeking His grace and mercy to help us. This is what we are asking you to do. There is no cost except a little time to ask God for his assistance. The founders of our country knew that without God’s help we could never succeed. Benjamin Franklin once said that since a sparrow could not fall to the ground without God noticing, It would be improbable for a nation to rise or fall without his concurring aid. If a nation is to succeed we will have to pray. When people decide not to pray for America they are deciding the future of their own families and friends. Everyone in America is someone’s child; many are the sons and daughters of great Christian people who have paid a great price to serve God in very difficult times. We are asking the American Christian to come to their senses and realize that America is a blessing from God. To live in other countries and face the problems of being a Christian in those lands would be devastating. If we are not praying for our nation, we do not appreciate the gift of this land and it’s table and are not being good stewards over the blessing that God has given us. When Israel was in bondage to idol worship and was being tormented by her enemies because of it, God still had mercy and raised up Gideon to bring deliverance to that nation with just a few men who were willing. God is still the same God. If more Christians will pray instead of trying to be a prophet of doom upon our nation we will see our nation turn from sin to serve God. Jonah wanted to see God destroy Nineveh, but God chose to save it instead. God is more willing to save than destroy but many have forgotten the nature of God. To Pray for the Salvation of the Jewish People In 1996 the Southern Baptist conference made a commitment to reach all of the Jewish people living in the United States. Their decision was based on several Biblical principles. The first being that it was God’s will that the Gospel should be preached to the Jew first and then the Gentile. The second being that it was not God’s will for any man to perish, but that all should come to repentance and accept Jesus as their savior. Because God had given his only begotten son to save the world, and since the Jewish people are part of this world the Baptist decided it was time to do something about this. They also realized that the America Christian had neglected sharing the Gospel with the Jewish people for a number of reasons. The first being that many Christians did not feel that God was interested in saving the Jewish people. The second was that many American Christians feel that the Jewish people have their religion and we have ours so why rock the boat. Knowing that all of these ideas are wrong the Southern Baptist launched a program to reach the Jewish people in America with the Gospel. This has caused the Southern Baptist many problems, including losing some of their Churches and some members. This happened because many Christians are anti-Semitic in their thinking and need to repent. Instead of repenting many simply opposed the work of God and decided to help the Devil instead. Many Jewish people have come to know Christ through the efforts of the Southern Baptist people. I am not a Southern Baptist, but I applaud their desire, their efforts and the great cost that has come because of their obedience to God in these last days. The whole eleventh chapter of Romans is about the Gentile people reaching the Jewish people with Gospel and the great Revival it will bring to the World when we do. We must do something if there is a heart beating within us. We must pray for the salvation of these people. Some day we will get a chance to explain to God why we did or did not care. Please help us pray for the salvation of the Jewish people in our nation and in all the nations of the World. God will greatly reward you if you will. God placed this burden upon my heart in 1991, which was 5 years before the Southern Baptist decided to do this. I was very moved with their commitment and I am praying that God will move upon the hearts of every Christian living in American to pray for the salvation of all of Israel, especially those who live in America. To pray for all nations to be saved We are committed to praying for the salvation of the people of all the nations of the world. Jesus said to go into the entire World and to preach the Gospel to everyone. In order to do this it requires prayer. Jesus himself taught us that no one could come to him unless the Spirit draws him or her. In order for the Spirit to draw people to Jesus there has to be a commitment to prayer. We believe that without prayer, our efforts to reach the lost will be fruitless. It is my desire that everyone who comes to our web-site will be moved in their hearts to pray for the lost. If you would like to join with us and become a prayer partner to pray for the lost we would appreciate it very much.
