Israel vs. Hezbollah What did it mean? Does this have significance in Bible Prophecy? Since the invasion of Israel by the Hezbollah in 2006 many have wondered at the unexpected outcome of the invasion. Many Christians believed and still do believe that Israel is virtually invincible. The struggle that came about by this invasion though showed that Israel was very vulnerable and under certain circumstances will require outside help in order to survive. Hezbollah: defined as meaning "the Party of God" was formed in the 1980s in order to fight against Israel. It is believed that they are funded and supported by Syria and Iran. Israel and America believe that they are basically terrorists because of their methods and purpose to destroy the existence of Israel. The belief that they are working with Allah, their God, gives them a determination that goes beyond the norm when it comes to fighting against Israel. They believe that Allah wills it. Attacking Israel from Lebanon and along the borders of Israel they rained down a storm of rockets that struck fear into the hearts of the Israelis in a way that Israel had not experienced in the past. Most believed that the conflict would probably not last very long and were surprised to see that Israel was really up against a more formable foe than realized. Because of the grand and glorious victory during the six-day war many Christians have a belief that Israel along with God's help will defeat anyone that comes against them. It is true God will always help Israel. But God often uses other people to help when there is a crisis. And there is a crisis coming that is going to come with the force and violence of a hurricane against the tiny nation of Israel. But during the invasion that will occur at that time many innocent people will lose their lives at the hands of these invaders. Israel will be defeated and driven out of their country so God will send help from other nations to try and recover the land of Israel for the people of Israel. Because of the element of surprise the support of the allies will come too late to prevent Israel's defeat but will help in other ways in rescue missions. Within a few short weeks an allied invasion will drive the invaders out of Israel. But this will eventually erupt into World War III and bring about the Battle of Armageddon. Hezbollah will no doubt be a part of this invasion that will come at a time that Israel feels that they have finally achieved peace at last. But Hezbollah will not be the leaders but merely puppets to perform for Antichrist and his hordes when they come to take the land from the peoples of Israel. Until then Hezbollah will be a like a tormenting scourge to torment Israel. Just as the many nations that would destroy Israel, these people along with the others, will be destroyed by Christ at His coming at the time of Armageddon. Understanding all of this only makes the responsibility more clear than ever that we need to stand with Israel. We need to be there for them when they need our help and we should especially pray for their protection and the salvation of their souls. Yours in Christ, |
