The following is an allegory about Israel receiving the Gospel from the Gentiles...Isaiah 60: 16: Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles,
and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Why the Antichrist will not rule all nations

Every since the time I was a child I was taught that the Antichrist was going to conquer the whole world. That he would be the ruler of all the nations of the world. He would force everyone to either take the "Mark of the Beast" or they would be doomed to die. This has been used many times very successfully, I might add, to scare people into accepting Jesus so that they would not be left behind to face this horrible situation. Don't get me wrong, I am glad that these folks got saved and I hope that they continue to live for Christ. However, no matter how successful this tool has been in bringing people to Jesus it is not based on the truth. There is too much proof in the Bible if people were willing to ask that proves that this is not the case. Many people are afraid to seek for the truth themselves for fear of rejection or ridicule from others around them. But you know, we really need to study God's Word. He commanded us to judge prophecy, and that means not to quickly believe everything that we are taught by others. And this includes what our organizations tell us that we must accept in order to be one of them. This includes your accepting what I have to say as well. Study the Scriptures.

Keys to Prophecy

We must learn from the way God talks to us
Understanding that God speaks to us through his Word and that he does and says things in particular ways that we often do not notice. These things are keys to understanding in His Word especially in the area of prophecy
Notice the key that we have placed on this Bible to the left. There are keys to understanding God. One of these keys is that God repeats many events over and over again in order to teach us new and different things about those events. For example the 4 Gospels are about the same story but by different writers to teach us different views of the same events. 1st and 2nd Kings are repeated by 1st and 2nd Chronicles telling the same stories over again but from a different perspective. The book of Isaiah and Revelation do the same thing within the very same book.
One of the other things that God does is use synecdoches in order to make a powerful impact on what he is telling us.

Using Synecdoches
Now you know that if I said that I went to town and saw everyone that I knew. No one would have to explain what I meant by this term because it is commonly used. You would realize that I didn't see everyone that I ever knew in my life in town. You would understand that I simply saw a lot of folks that I knew while I was there. It is an expression, not intended as a lie but a synecdoche, a form of speech. The Bible uses synecdoches in several places especially when addressing nations and powers. Such as the old empires of the world and the coming Antichrist. Notice what God says to Nebuchadnezzar about himself and the nations that would follow.

Daniel explains more about this dream to Nebuchadnezzar the king.
Daniel 2: 38: And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.
39: And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
Notice that he said that he would bear rule over all the earth.

The Bible almost always gives us two witnesses of the same truth.
In Jeremiah we get a second report on this same promise said in a different way, but meaning the same thing. This says that all nations would serve not only him but his sons as well. Once again we see the Lord himself speaking to us using a part for a whole. Because there were many nations that never served Babylon. The Medes and Persians were off stage preparing to destroy and take over Babylon. There were other nations such as Chinese dynasties, nations in the area of India, Japan, Indonesia and other places that had never heard of Nebuchadnezzar.

The Nation of Babylon
The way this is worded you would expect to look at a map of this and see his kingdom cover the whole world, but much to our surprise it doesn’t. In fact we can see by the map to the left that it was relatively small compared to the kingdoms that will follow. Notice that his kingdom only goes as far as the Tigris River to the east and only goes west into Egypt for a very short distance. To his east will eventually come the Medes and Persians, who feel threatened by his enormous power. Because of their fear they will become strong enough to defeat him.

Over All the Earth
Notice that it says that these following kingdoms would rule over all the earth. Of course we know that they didn’t rule all the earth because of history itself. There is another thing to consider using the word all. I have noticed that the word majority is not found in the Bible, not in the Hebrew or the Greek. I have often wondered if the word “all” was used to define “majority” for lack of a better word. But other teachers believe that the word “all” was used as a synecdoche.

The Inferior Kingdom
The kingdom that was inferior to Babylon became strong enough not to be inferior any longer and took over the Babylonian empire along with many other countries as well. But, it seems that in world conquest we always have a tendency to raise up enemies who want to destroy us if we become too big of a threat. Notice that the nation of Greece (Macedonia) was sitting to the west. Alexander would come from there and would ally Macedonia, Syria, Egypt and Thrace against the Persians.

The Kingdom of Brass
Alexander’s four kingdoms would take over a much larger area than the Medes and Persian empire. Theirs would extend to the Far East as far as parts of India. But there were still nations that they did not conquer to the east and to the west. One of these countries was the Romans who would fear this great power and become strong enough to defeat them.

To Subdue All Things
The Roman empire was formed by the conquering of Alexander and eventually conquering many more nations as well. Theirs would be the largest that was to ever form in that part of the world up until the time of the Ottoman Turks. But Rome would not last as the world power until then. There were many nations around them that would eventually destroy them as a major power. The Gauls, Germanians, Sermatians, Persians and Arabians would still be out of their grasp of power. The barbarians from Germania and their allies would devastate the city of Rome at one time. So they only subdued those that they were able to subdue. Again this word all does not mean everyone.

The Roman Empire
The Roman Empire would eventually become a religious empire. It’s influence over the nations would gradually loose it’s power. The Huns and Turks would become very strong. The Mongolians would become a devastating force in the part of the World. As we can see by these examples that no matter how strong nations become there is always someone is going to challenge that strength.

John the Baptist
John the Baptist is another example of the word “all” being used as a part instead of a whole. In Mark 1:5 The Scriptures seem to imply that everyone in the land of Judea including the city of Jerusalem were all baptized by John in the river of Jordan. However we know for sure that this was not the case seeing that most of the Sanhedrin, the Pharisees and Saducess hated John the Baptists because he accused them of being vipers and false teachers. He would eventually lose his head to people from Judea that was certainly not baptized by him. Again we see that the word all just doesn’t quite fit the picture. It simply is used for a part of the people, not all of the people.

Every Nation under Heaven
In the 2nd chapter of Acts: 5-11 the Scriptures say that there were devout men from out of “every nation under heaven” gathered in Jerusalem for the Day of Pentecost. However when they explain where they all came from you will see that this only included people from around Judea, the Mediterranean Sea and some of the Islands as well. They were described as the following. 9: Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10: Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11: Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. Again we see “every nation under heaven” being used as a part for a whole instead of every literal nation under God’s Heaven.

A Part for a Whole
When a phrase is used as a synecdoche a part for a whole means "some” instead of “all." Since this seems to be the case all the way through the Bible it is very unlikely that our description of "everyone or all" in our view today would be very accurate considering the evidence that is found in Scripture. In Zechariah 14:2 it says that God is going to gather "all nations" against Jerusalem to battle.” This is speaking of only those nations who hate and despise Israel, in fact we are looking at most of them today in the Muslim countries of the World. God will allow them to come against Jerusalem at the time of the end in order to gather them in one location in order to destroy them at the battle of Armageddon.

The Power given to the Antichrist
The Antichrist will not be nearly as powerful as people imagine. He will have only ten nations that will form his union. However he will be given a fourth part of the Earth. There are many countries that will support his effort even though they may not be directly involved. There are several proofs in the Bible that he does not conquer the whole world and have a one-world government. It has been taught for so many years that people believe that it is the truth. But it is not true. However by having control over a fourth-part of the earth he will end up being responsible for the destruction of over a third of the earth.

More Evidence
Think on this with me. The Antichrist will fight wars until the time of Armageddon. Those enemies that he is fighting are very powerful and he cannot enforce the mark on them or rule over them. At the time of the end he has been forced out of Israel all the way back to the river Euphrates in Iraq. He calls for help from other nations that he has no authority over. He convinces them through the deception of three spirits. If he was already in charge all he would have to do is command them to help him, but this is not the case. Another thing to consider is that Israel will leave their country at the time of the invasion of the Antichrist at the middle of the Tribulation. They will be gone for three and a half years. If all of these nations are going down to attack Jerusalem at the time of the end. Who are they going down to fight considering that Israel has escaped and is not home. Who are they fighting?

The Word "Earth"

Another thing that needs to be considered is the fact that the word "earth" in both the Old and New Testament prophecies has more than one meaning. For example the word "earth" is sometimes translated as meaning: earth, world, land, ground, territory, or region. In view of this when going back to read some of these passages of scripture it is very possible to see error in the translation of the word "earth", especially considering the history and the facts that lay behind it.

In the Old Testament in the book of Daniel we find a prophetic scripture that reads like this:
Daniel 7:23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

The word earth in this scripture comes from the Chaldean or Aramaic word "ara" which is #722 in the Strong's Concordance and means: earth, world, or ground. Strong's says that this word "ara" and the word "'erets" #776 are in harmony or agreement. This word means: firm, the earth at large or partitively a land, country, field, ground, land, nations, way, wilderness or world.

According to this, this means that the earth in this scripture could have been translated to mean land. Since this is the case and we know that the Roman Empire was the fourth beast in the earth and did not conquer the whole world then this scripture could have been translated to read like this:
"Daniel 7:23"He gave me this explanation: 'The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole LAND, trampling it down and crushing it.

This would be a more correct translation seeing as the Roman Empire only conquered part of the earth, not the whole earth. One of the things that I find interesting in this study is that the word "Araq" #778 is a transmutation from the word "ara" #772, notice the spelling and the pronunciation of the word. It is pronounced "ar-ak" and also means the earth, notice that it sounds very much like the word "Iraq" today. Both words came from the Chaldean, Aramaic lanquage, both are Babylonian in descent. Could it have been possible that the name of Iraq came from the same word that is translated earth in the above scripture?

In the book of Revelation we find ourselves in a similar situation with the word "earth".
Re 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

This word "earth" in the Strong's Greek Concordance is #1093 and is Ge (ghay). The meanings of this word could be used as:

  1. arable land -( Fit for cultivation, as by plowing)
  2. the ground, the earth as a standing place
  3. the main land as opposed to the sea or water
  4. the earth as a whole
    1. the earth as opposed to the heavens
    2. the inhabited earth, the abode of men and animals
  5. a country, land enclosed within fixed boundaries, a tract of land, territory, region.

Since we know that the Antichrist is not going to conquer the whole world but will be fighting wars right up to the end. Being driven out of Israel during the last part of the Tribulation he will have to gather re-enforcement in order to try and re-take Jerusalem at the time of Armageddon. So it would only make sense since the word translated as "earth" could mean any of these different things, that this scripture and others like it in Revelation could read similar to this:
Rev. 13:8 "And all that dwell in the REGION shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

In closing this teaching it is important to me that you realize that it was Finis Dake that brought to my attention the view of the synecdoche. And it was Tammy Stalnaker a good Christian friend that shared her studies with me on "the earth translations". I thank God for both of these people for they have helped me tremendously on this subject. Considering all of these points together in my view it would be a false teaching to believe that the Antichrist is going to conquer the whole world and have a one-world Government.
